In the past few days, President Trump has accelerated his grab for complete control of the U.S. government. This blatant, unprecedented effort to remove control and eliminate oversight by appropriate authorities is staggering. Trump seeks to consolidate Power and Control squarely within his sole grasp and coordinated by a select few at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Trump’s latest actions have no
historical precedent in the U.S., with the possible exception of the Lincoln
Administration during the Civil War, and FDR during WWII. In these cases, the
country was in fact under threat by enemy forces and in very real danger of
being completely overwhelmed. No such overwhelming situation exists today and is entirely manufactured by Trump and his cronies to justify the outright seizure
of Governmental Control.
Trump’s most recent efforts to wrest
control from the hands of Congress and U.S Law can be seen in his recent
actions: the firing of Inspectors General of government agencies; the firing of
key Lead Prosecutors at the Department of Justice; and canceling Congressionally
Authorized Federal Disbursements.
In the appalling and unparalleled
Freeze of funds already allocated by Congress to key government agencies
(Medicaid, Veterans Benefits, Food Stamps, Housing, and Education and Research
Grants), Trump seeks to consolidate
overall control of federal agencies, under his command within the Oval.
Commenting on Trump’s Freeze Gov. Tim
Walz (D-Minn.) calls the action ‘Stupid, Buffoonish, and Childish’.
When speaking of the Freeze Gov. Walz
asks who wants to ‘Defund the Police’? ‘These people are doing it’ !

As previously discussed here ( see 1/25, et al.), by firing
Inspectors General, whose primary function is to Investigate, Prosecute, and
otherwise Manage, Waste, Fraud, and Abuse, Trump seeks to appoint himself as the
sole arbiter of government function.
In firing prosecutors at DoJ Trump seeks to become the sole arbiter
of whomever gets charged and prosecuted with which Federal Violations, and who
doesn’t.

Greg Brower, a U.S. attorney during
the George W. Bush administration, said the move was unheard-of. “This is
unprecedented, given the career status of these people, which makes them not subject to dismissal by the president,
and the apparent lack of any cause that
the department has been able to articulate,” Mr. Brower said. “And so I
suspect we will see them exercise their rights to appeal”
