‘King’ Trump? / Patel
I’ve never
heard of a Supreme Court Ruling against a King before.
On Feb. 19 Trump proclaimed himself ‘King’.
President
Donald Trump fired Hampton Dellinger, Office
of Special Counsel, on Feb. 7.
On Feb.21, the Supreme Court rules
Hampton Dellinger will be able to lead the Office through at least Wednesday after an unsigned opinion backed by at least five justices.
The entire
affair could once again land at SCOTUS on Feb. 26. If the issuing court extends
the stay which returned Dellinger to his office.
Gov. Hochul,
Governor of NY State, (which, we can conclude Trump sees as part of his Kingdom?),
had her own reply to the Royal Edict.
“I’m here to
say New York hasn’t labored under a king in over 250 years and we sure as hell
are not going to start now,” Hochul said to cheers. “The
streets of the city where battles were fought, we stood up to a king and we
won. In case you don’t know New Yorkers, when we’re in a fight, we do not back
down, not now, not ever.”
(She also cited Alexander Hamilton) Politico
Perhaps Mr.
Trump isn’t that Majestic after all?
Elsewhere, Kash Patel was sworn in
as FBI Director.
Apparently, GOP Senators don’t have much of a
problem with people who come to their committee, swear an Oath, and then sit
down and lie.
