Lawrence O’Donnell, the Last Word/MSNBC-   made some salient, if slightly dramatic, observations about Pres. Trump’s stunning, yet ridiculous announcement that the United States would annex the Gaza Strip.

While Lawrence’s point that falling into the Trump/Gaza trap was a major distraction from more pressing concerns, such as Musk/Trump’s shuttering of U.S. AID, Trump’s proclamation could hardly be ignored. And the D.C. Press Corp. shouldn’t be blamed for inquiring further about Trump’s explosive yet completely ludicrous proposal.

Yasmin Vossoughian, MSNBC noted –‘Trump, alongside Netanyahu, may have gotten the U.S. into another war’ [?]. ‘Across the Middle East there is real, deep dissatisfaction and anger over Trump’s proposal.’

A ‘straightforward’ crime

This, should not be dismissed. As the onslaught of threatening and divisive news, one disastrous move after the next comes from the Trump/Musk Administration, we need maintain focus and response to each.

The Trump Gaza debacle is in fact, distracting, yet alarmingly significant. And the pending dismantling of U.S. AID plays a relevant role here: US AID is one of the major contributors of Humanitarian Relief in Gaza, elsewhere in the Middle East, as well as Africa.

Musk and Trump appear to have been successful in dismantling the agency, which, for decades, has been an iconic, productive operation.

USAID projected American Charity, Humanitarian contribution, Diplomacy as well as Strategic objectives world-wide.

The present plan by the Trump/Musk Administration appears to be to fold whatever is left of the agency and its operations into the State Department under newly-appointed Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

 While Rubio’s State Dept. struggles to determine what Foreign Aid is permissible to whom under Trump/Musk’s hatchet, delivery of USAID firewood to Ukrainian front-line positions was halted. This, another example of deplorable mismanagement by the Trump Administration under Elon Musk’s direction.
