In a never-ending saga of being opposed to just about everything the U.S. stands for, Pres. Trump today blamed Ukraine for the start of the war with Russia.

Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022

TRUMP

You should have never started it. You could have made a deal. I could have made a deal for Ukraine that would have given them almost all of the land, and no people would have been killed, and no city would have been demolished and not one dome would have been knocked down. But they chose not to do it that way.”

Pres. Trump

‘Everything about that is Untrue. It is All Untrue.’ Susan Gordon MSNBC Deadline White House

Susan M. Gordon served as Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence from August 7, 2017, until August 15, 2019.

In saying ‘they chose not to do it that way’, Trump implies that Ukraine Chose to have a War with Russia. As former Deputy DNI Sue Gordon points out, Nothing could be further from the Truth.

It is now a matter of common knowledge that from late 2021 until February 2022, Russian Pres. Putin massed an Invasion Force in both Russia and Belarus, intending to invade Ukraine, and to his mind, capture the Capital Kyiv, and forcing Ukrainian Surrender. Things didn’t go as well as the Generals in Moscow hoped.

Although the Ukrainian Military, greatly enhanced by U.S. and Western European Military Aid, prevented the capture of Kyiv and collapse of the country, Ukraine for 3 Years now, has been unable to repel Russian Forces in the South and South East.

Russia also continues to occupy Crimea, which it annexed in 2014.

Trump, in complete reversal of contemporary U.S. Policy, had Representatives meet with Russian Negotiators without any Ukrainian Representation. Trump, continuing in blaming Ukrainian Pres. Zelensky and former U.S. Pres. Biden, says, ‘“I think I have the power to end this war. And I think it’s going very well,’’.

Trump said of Pres. Zelensky, ’I like him personally. He’s fine', but said he thinks Zelensky lacks the ‘leadership’ to end the war.

Meanwhile, under Trump’s ‘leadership’, Trump will probably capitulate to Putin’s conditions for peace, no matter how much of Ukraine he has to give up to get it.

God Help Us.
