‘There's something happening here' - For What It's Worth

 This anthem was composed in 1966, and I was 9 Years Old. 

Viet Nam, Civil Rights Movements, Protests, Riots, Assassination, were commonplace. They were often, to put it mildly, quite confusing and anxious times for this 9-Year-Old...(I was a Total News Junkie by the time I was 12). 

This song was True then and is very much True Today.

Now it begins – Trump has sent His Troops into the streets... 

There is in fact, ‘Something happening here. And ‘What it is, is becoming more and more Clear’. 

There is in fact, ‘The Man’ with a Gun over there’, and They are in fact, ‘Telling me [Us], I got to beware’ 

It is, I think, - 
 
I think it's time we stop 
Children, what's that sound? 
Everybody look - what's going down? 

Trump is now drawing The Line, 
 
There's battle lines being drawn 
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong 
Young people speaking' their minds 
Getting so much resistance from behind 

Young people, Old people, Black people, White and Hispanic and Native people, Men, Women and Trans people are ‘Speaking their minds and getting so much Resistance’.  
 
It's time we stop 
Hey, what's that sound? 
Everybody look - what's going down? 
 

What a ‘Field Day’ for ‘The Heat! 
What a field day for the heat 
A thousand people in the street 
Singing songs and carrying signs 
Mostly saying, "hooray for our side" 
 
It's time we stop

Everybody look - what's going down? 
 
Paranoia strikes deep 
Into your life it will creep 
It starts when you're always afraid 
Step out of line, the man come and take you away 

WE Best Believe - Step out of line, the man come and take you away. Maybe it's Best for a Whole Lot of us to ‘Step out of line’ and get ‘Taken away’.  
We better stop

Everybody look - what's going down? 

Now, it’s On Us. 

Organize. Advocate. Oppose.
