White House Demolished

 Trump’s demolition of the White House is completely illustrative of his demolition of the U.S. Presidency, and the shredding of Our Constitution.

Just as The Constitution is by, for, and of The American People, so too is Our House. Trump is just a tenant.

This Tenant, though, has taken over The House and redesigns it more to his liking, (Mara Largo-Style).

The new building, which, make no mistake, is in fact, an entire new building attached to the White House, will now dwarf the original structure.

Trump’s Grand Ballroom is nearly twice the size of The White House. According to whitehouse.gov, the Ground Floor, State Floor, and residence floors of the White House are approximately 55,000 square feet. This number does not include the West or East Wings.

 Do Americans want this lavish expansion? No.  Polls show an overall rejection of Trump’s Grand Palace (Mara Largo-style). In the YouGov America poll, released Wednesday, 53 percent of Americans said they strongly or somewhat disapprove “of the decision to demolish part of the East Wing of the White House as part of the renovations,” https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5569341-trump-white-house-ballroom-disapproval/

This News as Trump’s overall Approval Rating hovers in the 37% Range.

        The East Wing demolition also displayed Trump’s disdain for Presidential Norms. His unilateral command to destroy a historic portion of a National Treasure is typical of his dictatorial ways. While the Trump team claims to have met with the National Park Service (which maintains White House grounds) and others, that meeting was primarily to explain the already progressing project, rather than to gather input. Neither Congress nor The White House Historical Society were invited into the planning and procedure of the new construction. Thus, Jackie Kennedy’s completely redesigned and restored East Wing was completely Demolished this week.

Just as Trump is completely Demolishing our Democracy.
