'What if you Knew her and Found her Dead on the ground'?

 

Recent weeks call to mind events from my youth. I was 13:

‘May 4, 1970. At Kent State University, the Ohio National Guard shot unarmed college students — some who were protesting the war and others who were passing by. The guards fired 67 rounds over a period of 13 seconds, killing four students (Allison Krause, Jeffrey Miller, Sandra Scheuer, and William Knox Schroeder) and wounding nine others.’

I recall being confused, and somewhat anxious about American Soldiers shooting and killing students at the university.

I recall asking my Mom why American Soldiers were Shooting American Students. I remember she said it was ‘complicated’, and the Students were ‘Rioting’ at the College.  

Oh.

I also recall the words of Crosby, Stills. Nash & Young:

What if you knew Renee Good, and found her ‘Dead on the Ground’?

‘The report states two gunshot wounds were found on the right side of Good's chest, as well as another gunshot wound to her left forearm and a "possible gunshot wound" […] "on the left side of the patient's head."

 What if you knew Alex Pretti, and found him ‘Dead on the Ground’?

 They added that videos showed Alex Pretti was not holding a gun when he was tackled by federal agents but holding his phone with one hand and using the other to shield a woman who was being pepper-sprayed.

It can be somewhat ‘Complicated’, and at the same time not:
