Supreme Injustice
We now live in the worst of times.
4/29/26 should go down as one of the Darkest Days of American History. A highly-partisan and extremist, unjust Supreme Court decided, along partisan lines, to virtually gut the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
I was so disgusted, distressed and stunned by yesterday's Supreme Court Decision that I could barely think about it, much less write or speak about it. My thoughts quickly turned from Revulsion to Revolution. My thoughts drifted once again to research on bomb-making, but that's not really my thing.
"For over a decade," this court has had its sights set on the Voting Rights Act."
Justice Elena Kagan
Justice Kagan also cited a 2013 ruling authored by Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts in a case involving Alabama's Shelby County that gutted Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act. Wednesday's ruling, Kagan wrote, "is part of a set."

I do not yet know what I can do about Revolution without getting into a whole lot of trouble, except of course to write.
It's deplorable enough that we have to live under the dreadful tyranny of the Trump Administration, now this. White Christian Nationalists must be overjoyed with this latest development.
Have hopes of Rep. Hakim Jefferies (D - NY) as House Speaker been vanquished? Or shall we remain with Mike Johnson (R La.), or someone of his meager stature as Speaker? We shall wait and see.
Meanwhile, I shall stay attentive and await whatever we can do next to Oppose this absurd Ruling.
Organize. Advocate. Oppose.
