I ended last night’s blog with a sign-off line I use often – ‘God Help Us’.

This comes from my early understanding of how much trouble We Have with Trump’s Second Presidency.

Also, Trump’s proclamation last night that the war with Russia was Ukraine’s fault, ’Gave Away the Store’ before Peace Negations even began. (See last night) :

After a few Trump-moves later, some significant people have also recognized Trouble: Former Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul, Former U.S. NATO Member Maj. Gen. Barry Mc Caffery, and Former GOP/Tea Party Congressman Joe Scarborough.

·        Amb. Mike McFaul: ‘Trump put out everything up-front before we even got to the table.  This is a crisis of epic proportion.’

·        Gen. Barry Mc Caffery:  ‘Russia is led by a Dangerous Gangster’. ‘ Putin poses an unconstrained threat to Europe and the U.S.                                                                (to his credit, Gen, Mc Caffery has I.D.’d Trump as a National security Threat since 2021) 

·      GOP Rep. Joe Scarborough: ‘Capitulation to Putin only emboldens him further.’ ‘The U.S. needs Peace through Strength, not from a position of Weakness’.

The cause for the latest alarm is from a few Trump-moves. First Trump’s newly-minted Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth publicly announced while in Germany for a meeting of Allies, that it was “unrealistic” to think Russia wouldn’t keep portions of Ukraine it took by force. He added that Ukrainian membership in NATO wouldn’t happen. Simply put, before negotiations on a possible peace plan even began, Hegseth was already giving Russia what it wanted.

  Meanwhile, Hegseth at the Allies Conference used the opportunity to lecture Western European Allies about Democracy[!] and to let them know that come the next European Confrontation, the U.S. is not particularly enthusiastic about participating.

This virtually gives Putin the Green Light to engage in some more expansionism in Eastern Europe. One can’t help but suppose that Estonia, or perhaps even Poland, is on Putin’s’ Bucket List’.


Then comes Trump’s declaration that Ukraine ‘started’ the war, and Putin has everything he needs going into Negotiation and Ukraine has nothing. Leaving Ukraine out of initial talks is reminiscent of an Old Saying – ‘If you are not At the Negotiation Table, you’re probably On the Table.’

All we need now is for Trump to announce ‘Peace in our time’, and we’ll be all set for WWIII.
